New York Baye Fall(s)

The Baye Falls are a subgroup of the Mouride Brotherhood in Senegal. They live by a strong ethic of mutual support, guided by the principle of jappalante—sharing with those in need, whether fellow community members or the poor.
This project explores how Baye Falls find an emotional anchor in the Mouride Brotherhood as they struggle to establish new lives in the United States.
